Define a specific need
An AI solution needs an identifiable task, an owner and evaluation criteria. Start by defining information sources, the process to be supported and the decisions that remain with people.
Set operating boundaries
Not every action should be automated in the same way. Distinguish retrieval, recommendation and execution; each needs permissions, human review and exception-handling mechanisms.
Evaluate before expanding
An appealing demonstration does not replace evaluation against representative cases. Response quality, consequential errors and intervention requirements should be observed before usage expands.
Assign operational ownership
The solution needs an owner, monitoring, support and a way to update when processes or data change. AI becomes a business capability when it can be governed and sustained.
